The Queen is called upon to cheer us up. The Prime Minister is in hospital. None of the politicians seem to know if our NHS staff have got enough protective masks and clothing. If you go and try to pass someone in the supermarket isle – they jump a mile!
Meanwhile, demand for our Bio-Life anti-allergy products and MediCleanse hand sanitiser is going through the roof so it is not all doom and gloom on the economic front. The only problem – trying to get hold of raw materials is getting impossible. I think we would definately prefer a viral free world!!
Friday, we could not see our 1 year old grandson on his first birthday. My step-daughter is trying to man her Estate Agency office alone because all the staff are off so Sarah has gone from Director to general dogsbody. My brother is not allowed to deliver any cars so he is at home twiddling his thumbs.
Our house sales have had to stop because no-one is allowed to move. We are still trying to work out the logic of this move. After all, it only normally involves 1 or 2 potential clients and one of us so not exactly a crowd.
Luckily no-one in our house is a hypochondriac otherwise the lock down really would drive us mad. The bad news – most of us are the wrong side of 60 so I guess we should be careful although there are times when you begin to wish we would all get it and get the blasted crisis over.
I guess, like most people, the real question on our minds is when is this going to end. Will it just fizzle out as more and more become immune or will the virus mutate just as our scientist develop a vaccine. This aspect is perhaps the biggest worry. After all, this virus managed to transmit itself from bats and pangolins to humans and there is not much genetic similarities between these species.
The scientists have a lot to think about and Oh Yes – we do wish them well. Many lives depend upon them so I hope they feel appreciated when they work all hours in their laboratories.
